North Bend Sign Project
In August 2024, the four-lane Highway 30 expressway fully opened, and traffic that used to pass through North Bend now zooms by a mile north of town. The Purcell Initiative sees it as vital to ensure North Bend remains visible and inviting to travelers. It plans to do so with a eye-catching 32-foot tall sign at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 79. It will be the light over the front porch of North Bend, announcing to everyone that we're home, and you are welcome in. The sign is expected to be in place in the fall to early winter of 2024.
You've Been Challenged
Generous contributions from the City of North Bend, the North Bend Area Community Foundation, the Fremont Area Foundation and the North Bend Area Chamber of Commerce have provided a total of $90,000 of funding. Now we need your help getting across the finish line. It is estimated about $14,000 remains to pay for the project. An anonymous donor agreed to provide $7,000 if other donors provided the other half. You're up!
